Randy Klatt has devoted his career to the military, aviation, and workplace safety. He holds a BS in Aeronautical Administration from Saint Louis University School of Science and Engineering (formally Parks College) and an MS in Aviation Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
Randy served 21 years in the US Navy holding positions as a P-3C pilot, T-44A instructor pilot, catapult and arresting gear officer, aviation safety officer, and safety department head. He then went on to work for United Airlines flying the 727-200 and 737-300/500 models. He was also a part-time Embry-Riddle Worldwide Adjunct Instructor teaching classes such as Human Factors in Aviation and Aircraft Crash Investigation.
A furlough ended the airline career, so Randy pivoted to focus on workplace safety. For nearly 20 years he worked closely with employers in all industries to reduce injuries and limit worker’s compensation insurance costs. He was the President of Maine Safety Professionals for five years followed by 14 years as a consultant and director of Loss Control and Safety Services for the MEMIC Group based in Portland, Maine. He held the Certified Safety Professional and Worker’s Compensation Professional ratings and was an authorized instructor for the OSHA 10/30-hour Outreach Courses. Randy retired in 2022 but his passion for aviation safety remains a priority.
