Learn more about DAF giving below.
THE FOUNDATION FOR AVIATION SAFETY's mission starts by bringing transparency to the forefront and uncovering risks associated with flying on today’s commercial aircraft. In order to fulfill this mission, thousands of hours are spent each year diligently researching and analyzing the latest incidents, safety reports, investigations, and industry developments, to ensure we are armed with accurate and unbiased information so as to provide powerful advocacy and action to the projects we undertake.
Here, you have the chance to empower the flying public and help support our mission with a donation, to enhance our capabilities, outreach, and impact.
The funds donated here will go to necessary research and advocacy costs as well as further ensuring the public is informed.
You can contribute cash, appreciated securities, mutual fund holdings, partnership interests, insurance policies, or other qualified assets into a DAF account (such as DAFGiving360).
You take an immediate tax deduction for the current value of the asset in the year of the gift (subject to IRS limits). Because the gift is made in-kind (you don’t sell the asset first) you avoid paying taxes on any appreciated assets.
The DAF invests contributed assets (at your direction) and any future gains are tax-free.You can recommend to the DAF a grant to the Foundation for Aviation Safety (or other IRS-qualified charities) at any time – even immediately.
If you’re expecting higher income or market gains this year, giving appreciated assets to a DAF helps reduce your taxable income now. You can “pre-fund” future charitable support while locking in this year’s tax benefits. The sooner you act (before December 31), the more time your donation has to work for our mission.
We recommend you consult your tax advisor for further details.
